What's New in Maple Flow


Maple Flow is updated several times a year, as we continually improve the product and respond to customer requests. On this page, you will find details about the latest enhancements to Maple Flow, as well as information about earlier updates.


Getting the Update
The first major Maple Flow release of the year is automatically sent to all Maple Flow customers who are members of the Maplesoft Elite Maintenance Plan at that time. You will receive an email with instructions once the release is available. Subsequent updates throughout the rest of the year are issued through the Check for Updates mechanism built into Maple Flow. Maple Flow 2026
The Maple Flow 2026 release sharpens the tools you already rely on and opens up new ways to build, connect, and even generate your worksheets - from a faster math engine to inline programming right on the canvas, to AI-assisted worksheet generation and expanded connectivity across your engineering toolchain.
Program smarter, calculate faster
  • AI - assisted worksheet generation
    Maple Flow works with AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code and Codex) and Maple MCP to generate worksheets from existing sources.

    • Generate worksheets from a natural language prompt: A detailed prompt describing the calculations and technical content you need can generate a structured Maple Flow worksheet complete with documentation, live calculations, and equation provenance.

    • Convert Excel spreadsheets into Maple Flow worksheets: Hidden references and formulas in a spreadsheet can be hard to audit. AI agents can turn that opaque logic into readable, natural math notation that's easier to review.

    • Convert MATLAB scripts into Maple Flow worksheets: Move from code-like equations and procedural loops to readable calculation documents built with high-level solvers, piecewise statements, and 2D equations.

    • Assemble a math model from a website or technical paper: Translate public references, technical articles, or papers with empirical data into structured worksheet models with transparent assumptions and documented provenance.
    All AI-generated worksheets should be reviewed before use in engineering work - output can vary between models and between runs.

  • Write programs directly on the worksheet with Inline Programming
    You can now write programs and scripts right in the worksheet, executed inline alongside all your other worksheet content. Enter your program using the new Programming palette or the keyboard, switching between the two whenever it's convenient.

    • The mouse-driven programming palette lets you insert common programming templates, such as for loops and if/else statements, with the correct indentation already in place.
    • Keyboard-driven entry comes with productivity features to keep your code clean and readable.
  • Performance boost
    This release brings further improvements to the math engine, so even your most demanding worksheets stay responsive. Performance gains come from improvements across the interface, individual routines, and the computational framework underneath the math engine.
Connecting Maple Flow to your engineering world
  • Expanded Excel Support
    You can now copy and paste more types of data from Excel to Maple Flow, making it easier to bring your existing spreadsheet data straight into your worksheets.
  • Migrate your legacy files to Maple Flow
    The Maple Flow Migration Assistant now supports moving content from Mathcad Prime® files, in addition to existing support for Mathcad 13, 14, and 15 worksheets. The Migration Assistant can also convert Mathcad programs directly into Maple Flow's new inline programs, preserving more of the structure and intent of the original worksheet.
  • More ways to learn Maple Flow
    • An expanded User Guide, including a new section on inline programming.
    • New applications added to the Application Gallery, including a new semiconductor section.
