New additions to the Maplesoft engineering product line help engineers meet the challenges of complex physical modeling projects. One significant component of this release is MapleSim 3. Based on customer feedback, MapleSim 3’s extended modeling platform ensures even faster model development time while expanding the modeling scope.
Faster Model Development Time
MapleSim 3 includes many enhancements designed to significantly reduce model development time.
- The Project Manager makes it easier to manage large projects and change existing models.
- Conveniently manage models, data, parameters, and components
- Navigate through the model hierarchy quickly and easily from inside both the MapleSim workspace and Maple™ documents containing embedded MapleSim models
- Diagnostic tools make it easier to detect and correct problems with a model, reducing the development time.
- Identify lines in your diagram that are not connected
- Enable or disable model components or subsystems to aid in troubleshooting
- Identify inconsistencies with multibody diagrams, such as non-zero mass matrices
- Improved help access means descriptions of a component and its connectors are immediately available and remain visible while building a model.
- Tooltips on components instantly identify ports and connection types, making developing models easier for users who are working with unfamiliar components.
- Automatic routing of connections leaves the layout of the connection lines to MapleSim, so engineers do not have to spend time on the cosmetic aspects of the model diagram.
- The 3-D Visualization Preview feature provides 3-D previews of multibody models, so engineers can verify that the model is correct and make modifications before running simulations.
Expanded Scope
New component libraries and improved solvers broaden the scope of models that can be created and simulated in MapleSim.
- The new Hydraulics library provides a collection of components for creating models of hydraulic devices and circuits.
- Provides a broad selection of components, including cylinders, chambers, actuators, pipes, and valves
- Easy connection to electrical, mechanical, and control systems allows for rapid development of complete system models
- The expanded collection of Electrical Machine components provides single components for many commonly combined elements, eliminating the need to develop custom components for these objects.
- Provides built-in components for many essential variants of AC Motors, including single-phase and multiphase, and asynchronous and synchronous machines
- Basic components, such as air gaps, damper/squirrel cages, and phasor models, support the creation of custom machine models
- The improved Semiconductors library extends the range of electric circuits that can be developed.
- Extended transistor models, including BJT
- Thermal models for MOSFET and diode components
- The improved solver can handle greater complexity.
- Simulation times have been reduced
- Models previously too complex to simulate are now feasible
