In April 2008, Maplesoft celebrated twenty years of being a corporation. Its core intellectual property was developed as an advanced research project at the University of Waterloo, Canada, in the early 1980s. Maplesoft is headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and is a member of Cybernet Systems Group.
