Examples

Calling Sequence

cylinder(c, r, h, capped=boolean, strips=n, options)

Parameters

c

-

center of the base circle of the cylinder

r

-

(optional) radius of the cylinder; default is 1

h

-

(optional) height of the cylinder; default is 1

capped=boolean

-

(optional) specifies whether the resulting object should be capped; default is true

strips=n

-

(optional) number of sides; default is 24

Description

•

The cylinder command creates a three-dimensional plot data object, which when displayed is a cylinder of height h.  The base circle of the cylinder is centered at c, of radius r, and parallel to the xy-plane.

•

The plot data object produced by the cylinder command can be used in a PLOT3D data structure, or displayed using the plots:-display command.

•

The cylinder is capped on both ends unless you specify the capped = false option.

•

The cylinder is constructed of n vertical strips, which can be specified with the strips = n option.  The default number of strips is 24.

•

Remaining arguments are interpreted as options, which are specified as equations of the form option = value. For more information, see plottools and plot3d/option.
