Nullspace

compute the nullspace of a matrix mod p

 Calling Sequence Nullspace(A) mod p

Parameters

 A - Matrix over a finite field p - positive integer

Description

 • Nullspace(A) mod p computes a basis for the null space (Nullspace) of the linear transformation defined by the matrix A. The result is a (possibly empty) set of vectors.

Examples

 > $A≔\mathrm{Matrix}\left(\left[\left[1,2,3\right],\left[1,2,3\right],\left[0,0,0\right]\right]\right)$
 ${A}{:=}\left[\begin{array}{rrr}{1}& {2}& {3}\\ {1}& {2}& {3}\\ {0}& {0}& {0}\end{array}\right]$ (1)
 > $\mathrm{Nullspace}\left(A\right)\phantom{\rule[-0.0ex]{0.5em}{0.0ex}}\mathbf{mod}\phantom{\rule[-0.0ex]{0.5em}{0.0ex}}5$
 $\left\{\left[\begin{array}{r}{3}\\ {1}\\ {0}\end{array}\right]{,}\left[\begin{array}{r}{2}\\ {0}\\ {1}\end{array}\right]\right\}$ (2)
