Educators are appropriately fearful that students will use AI to get through assignments and learn nothing in the process. But AI also has the potential to be a powerful tool to support student learning, especially when combined with analytics and intelligence to determine where those students are struggling.
This talk will explore a novel initiative from Maplesoft that is exploring how AI, together with analytics gathered while students are working independently, can be leveraged to create content that is specifically tailored to address the unique challenges that each student faces. The scaffolded content is designed to encourage students to engage deeply with the material and encourage productive struggle. As a result of these timely, targeted resources, the student feels confident and supported, in addition to gaining a deeper understanding of the course material.
Of course, AI isn’t magic. In this session, you will learn about some of the challenges and early successes of this initiative, including results from pilot projects, lessons learned, and next steps.
