Two-to-Make-Three Word Quiz
Introduction
Players of SCRABBLE® and similar word games find it useful to know all the valid three-letter words that can be formed from a valid two-letter word. For example, in the SCRABBLE® game, knowing these words allows you to find places where you can "hook" onto a word already on the board.
The application below tests your knowledge of the hooks for two-letter words. In the game below, check off all the letters that can be added to the word displayed. The first and second parts test your knowledge of front and back hooks respectively. For an extra challenge, uncheck the "Show number of solutions" box so that you cannot see the correct number of letters to check off.
The word list used in this application is based on The Official Tournament and Club Word List, 2nd Edition (informally called the OWL2) from the National Scrabble Association.
