This model demonstrates the dynamic behavior of a web line with an SWrap roller as master drive. The unwinder is controlled by dancer position feedback radius measurement. An ultrasonic radius measurement is used to calculate the rotational speed for the motor. The rewinder is tension-controlled from load cell. The model is an example for a parameter sweep. The target is to analyse the control behavior for different web materials. The initial parameterization of the web properties is for a stiff material with an elastic modulus of 4000MPa. A model run shows a good control behavior with less tension oscillations and the dancer movements. If you change the elastic modulus to 400MPa assuming that the new material is much softer, the control loop is going unstable. A short parameter sweep helps to analyse and evaluate the control gain of the unwinder controller. Please follow these steps: Set the elastic modulus to 400MPa Run the simulation in MapleSim Check the results and switch to the “Rerun Simulation” page Do a right-click on the parameter: “parameter3.kp” and cklick on “Range” Define the parameter range with Min=0.04, Max=0.4, Data Points=10 Start the rerun and analyse the results
