How Does MapleSim Compare?

MapleSim leverages the latest advances in symbolic and numeric computing to simulate demanding multidomain systems. Here we explore how MapleSim delivers an environment that is a superset of the existing tools for signal-flow simulation and physical modeling.

Compared to Signal Flow Tools

As well as traditional signal-flow functionality, MapleSim allows you to model at the physical component level. This generates block diagrams that look more like the original physical system.

Signal-flow only tools, however, are not well suited for physical modeling. They demand time-consuming and error-prone manual derivation of system equations, and produce block diagrams that do not look like the original physical system.

Compared to Other Physical Modeling Tools

Other physical modeling tools produce cluttered block diagrams or have computational engines not suited for modern applications. MapleSim, however, generates more concise representations of physical systems and exploits the latest technology to model the demanding multidomain systems that challenge engineers today.

For Analysis, Documentation and Custom Physical Components

A live MapleSim model can be embedded in a Maple document – this allows you to interact with the model using the complete spectrum of functionality within Maple. No other tool offers this complete integration of a physical modeling and analysis environment.
