News & Announcements
Validate and extend the analysis of your Simulink model with the new BlockImporter for Simulink
Announcing Maple 11

BlockImporter™ for Simulink® is a Maple add-on that allows you to import a Simulink model into Maple and convert it to a set of mathematical equations. Once the model is represented as a set of equations, it can be analyzed, optimized and simplified, then converted back to Simulink using BlockBuilder.  This enables the user to validate the mathematical integrity of the model, perform further analysis, document the system, eliminate algebraic loops and increase Simulink execution speed.

PSC Functions V 2.2

New multi-disciplinary environment for financial modeling and analysis

The new Maple™ Financial Modeling Toolbox complements Maple’s multi-disciplinary environment with over 100 new commands, designed specifically for quantitative financial modeling and analysis. These can be combined with the existing Maple tools - including ODE and PDE solvers, statistical data analysis and optimization, to produce analytical applications and product prototypes in the Maple interactive document interface.

New Customer Support and FAQ section empowers customers

Maplesoft’s new Customer Support webpage and FAQ’s empower customers to have immediate access to all the information they need.  Visit the FAQ section to instantly find the answers to known issues and workarounds for common problems, or contact tech support directly.  This new center gives you direct links to download product updates and manuals, the Maple Application Center and Offline Activation.

Updates to Maplesoft Add-on Products to Support Maple 11

The Maple Professional Toolboxes and MapleConnect Premier products have been updated to support Maple 11 including, Maple Toolbox for MATLAB®, BlockBuilder for Simulink®, the Global Optimization Toolbox,  Database Integration Toolbox, DynaFlexPro™ and DynaFlexPro/Tire.  The Mathematics Survival Kit is also available for Maple 11.

User Case Studies

Yoda

Mathematical software used to digitize Star Wars character Yoda.

An applied mathematician at Davidson College, Professor Tim Chartier is passionate about finding relevant, exciting examples of using mathematics. He knows that examples engage students. One of his trusted assistants in this project is Maple, Maplesoft’s world-leading computation engine, which offers the breadth and depth to handle every type of mathematics.

A Few of My Favorite Things

In this episode, Tom sits down with Maplesoft's Director of Commercial Market Development, Paul Goossens, to discuss add-on products and the MapleConnect program; MapleConnect is a developer support program designed to help members of our unique community capitalize on their creativity, knowledge, ideas, and energy by commercializing their intellectual property. Tom also joins Eithne Murray on the phone to talk about some her favorite new features in Maple 11 – e.g. the new physics package, handwriting recognition, numeric formatting, and more. And of course we have some more interesting news about Maple.

Maple 11 Product Review
Scientific Computing World, Review by Felix Grant

A product review of Maple 11 appeared in Scientific Computing World. Felix Grant who reviewed the software has this to say:
“With an eye on the future, Maple has, for some time, been radically developing its interface and this continues in release 11: what used to be one of the less friendly computer algebra environments is becoming, in many ways, one of the most imaginative…Overall, this may be the most substantial landmark release of Maple for some time. More important, perhaps, is the evidence which it presents of strategic evolutionary directions and concrete platforms for user preparation to follow them.”
