Zoom Into a Plot

Using a click-and-drag operation, you can select the precise horizontal and vertical plot ranges that you want displayed, and magnify and explore any regions of interest. The zoom into plot feature is available in both the Point Probe and Scale Manipulator modes.

Zoom into a plot from point probe mode or scale mode
|
|
1.
|
Click the plot to select it. By default, point probe mode is enabled.
|

In point probe mode, press the Shift key and simultaneously drag the cursor across the plotting region you want to explore, creating a rectangle around the region. In scale mode, you do not need to press the Shift key while you drag the cursor.
|

|
The plot is transformed from the old range to the new range. To zoom into the plot further, repeat steps 1 and 2.

Undo zoom plot in point probe mode
|
|
|
Return to default view
|
|
|
Once you have zoomed in on a particular plotting region, to return to the default view of the plot, perform any of the following tasks:
|

|
Use the Axes dialog window to set the new horizontal and vertical range. Right-click on the plot, select Axes, then select Properties....
|
•
|
In the 2-D plot toolbar, click the Show default view button (
).
|
•
|
Right-click on the plot, select Axes, then select Show default view.
|
|
|
Undo the last zoom action

|
|
Once you have zoomed in on a particular plotting region, to undo the last zoom action perform any of the following tasks:
|
•
|
Use the shortcut key combination Ctrl + z.
|
•
|
Select Edit, then Undo Zoom Plot.
|
|
|
|
Zoom out from a plot in scale mode
|
|
|
To zoom out from a plot or change the view of a plot in scale mode, you can use your mouse wheel to zoom out from the plot or you can use any of the following methods:

Return to default view
|
|
|
Once you have zoomed in on a particular plotting region, to return to the default view of the plot, perform any of the following tasks:
|
•
|
Use the Axes dialog window to set the new horizontal and vertical range. Right-click on the plot, select Axes, then select Properties....
|
•
|
In the 2-D plot toolbar, click the Show default view button (
).
|
•
|
Right-click on the plot, select Axes, then select Show default view.
|
|
|
Undo the last zoom action
