Translational Spring

Linear 1D translational spring

Description The Translational Spring (or Spring) component models a linear 1-D translational spring connected between two flanges.
 Equations $f=c\left({s}_{\mathrm{rel}}-{s}_{\mathrm{rel0}}\right)=-{f}_{a}={f}_{b}$ ${s}_{\mathrm{rel}}={s}_{b}-{s}_{a}$

Variables

 Name Units Description Modelica ID $f$ $N$ Force between flanges (positive in direction of flange axis R) f ${f}_{x}$ $N$ Force applied to ${\mathrm{flange}}_{x},x\in \left\{a,b\right\}$ flange_x.f ${s}_{\mathrm{rel}}$ $m$ Relative distance between flanges s_rel ${s}_{x}$ $m$ Absolute position of ${\mathrm{flange}}_{x},x\in \left\{a,b\right\}$ flange_x.s
