MapleTA[Builtin]

 decimal
 rounds a floating-point number to n decimal places

 Calling Sequence decimal(n, x)

Parameters

 n - integer x - numeric

Description

 • The decimal command returns x expressed as a floating-point number rounded to n decimal places.
 • Trailing zeros are truncated and not displayed.

Examples

 > $\mathrm{MapleTA}:-\mathrm{Builtin}:-\mathrm{decimal}\left(3,20.8571\right)$
 ${20.857}$ (1)
 > $\mathrm{MapleTA}:-\mathrm{Builtin}:-\mathrm{decimal}\left(3,20.8579\right)$
 ${20.858}$ (2)

 • The MapleTA[Builtin][decimal] command was introduced in Maple 18.
