1.2 Proctor Overview

Proctors are responsible for authorizing a student to start and grade an assignment. Proctors do not have to use the student's computer to authorize the start or grading of an assignment. However, they must be able to confirm the student's identity.

Initially, for your proctor password, see your class instructor or system administrator.

Proctoring is used to confirm the identity of the student taking the assignment and that the assignment was taken under approved conditions. The class instructor creates proctored assignments in the system. For all proctored exams, a designated proctor must give authorization before the student can have the test graded. Instructors can also require the proctor to authorize the start of the exam session as well as the completion (to authorize grading).
