Equation of the Line through Two Points in 2-D

Description Compute the equation of the line through two points in two-dimensional space.

Specify the first point.

 > $\mathrm{geometry}\left[\mathrm{point}\right]\left(a,{1}{,}{-}{2}\right)$
 ${a}$ (1)

Specify the second point.

 > $\mathrm{geometry}\left[\mathrm{point}\right]\left(b,{0}{,}{1}\right)$
 ${b}$ (2)

Define the line through the two points.

 > $\mathrm{geometry}\left[\mathrm{line}\right]\left(l,\left[a,b\right]\right)$
 ${l}$ (3)

Compute the equation of the line.

 > $\mathrm{geometry}\left[\mathrm{Equation}\right]\left(l,\left[x,y\right]\right)$
 ${1}{-}{3}{}{x}{-}{y}{=}{0}$ (4)
