The Midpoint of a Line Segment

The Midpoint  Formula

The midpoint of a line segment is obtained by averaging the x-coordinates and averaging the y-coordinates of the endpoints of the segment. If we denote the segment endpoints by $\left({x}_{1},{y}_{1}\right)$ and $\left({x}_{2},{y}_{2}\right)$, and the segment's midpoint by $\left(x,y\right)$ then we have:

Click or drag two points on the graph, and their midpoint will be shown, along with the two components of the line, and their midpoints.

Check Only use integer coordinates if you want to allow only lattice points to be selected (for example, not ).
