Heating an Oil Stream Through Three Steam-Heated Tanks

Cold oil is being heated by steam through a series of three tanks connected in series. The transient change in temperature is modeled by three coupled ordinary differential equations. This model consists of three instances of a heated tank, created as a custom component. The custom component is created in a Maple worksheet by simply typing in the governing differential equation (double-click on any of the components to see the worksheet). You can expand the model by adding more copies of the custom component.
