Welcome to the Quaternions package. The Quaternions package is a
collection of tools for using and exploring quaternions.
Requirements
- Maplesoft's Maple 8 or higher
- 8 MB of free disk space
Installation
Pre-installation Instructions
- Review the system requirements.
- If you have not done so already, extract all the files from the
file Quaternions.zip. Chose a location for these
files, and place them in that folder. These instructions assume that
this location is C:\Quaternions. Substitute the actual
location as needed.
Installation Instructions
- Copy the files Quaternions.lib, Quaternions.ind,
and Quaternions.hdb from the C:\Quaternions
folder, and place them inside the lib folder of your
Maple installation. For example, on WindowsTM with Maple 8,
this would be C:\Program Files\Maple 8\lib\.
- If you wish to save disk space, delete the files which were
copied from the C:\Quaternions folder.
If you do not have permission to place files in the Maple 8
directory, the files may be left in their current location.
Using the Quaternions Package
- Start Maple.
- If you installed the Quaternions files inside the Maple lib
directory, Maple will automatically find this package. If you installed
it elsewhere, then you will need to tell Maple where to find the new
package. To do this, at the prompt, enter the command
libname := "C:\\Quaternions", libname;
To have this package available every time you start Maple, put the
preceding command in your Maple command initialization. See ?worksheet, reference, initialization
for help.
- At the prompt, enter the command ?Quaternions
to view the top-level help page.
