This worksheet studies the motion of a projectile launched on a rotating disk. It uses Maple to visualize what is seen by an observer on the disk, that is, in the moving frame of reference, and by an inertial observer watching from a fixed point outside the rotating frame of the disk. Generations of physics students have studied this same problem, but none with the set of tools provided by Maple. The sharpening of intuition provided by the animations is remarkable.
