Updating Models Created in MapleSim 5 or Earlier
In MapleSim 4.5, the Modelica® Standard Library 2.2.1 was replaced by the Modelica Standard Library 3.1. If you created a model in MapleSim 4 or earlier, you can open it in MapleSim 4.5 or later; it will then be updated automatically to use equivalent components from the Modelica Standard Library 3.1.
For more information on how to troubleshoot an updated model created in MapleSim 4.5 or earlier see Troubleshoot Updated Models Created in MapleSim 4.5 or Earlier.
To update models for use in MapleSim 6
In MapleSim 6, if you open a model created in MapleSim 4.5 or later, the update process starts automatically without notification.
In MapleSim 6, if you open a model created in MapleSim 4 or earlier, the update process starts automatically with notification. To keep a copy of the .msim file for use in its original form, click Save Updated Model As..., then browse to the directory where you want to save the updated file, enter a new file name, and click Save. You now have two copies of the .msim file: your original .msim file, which can be used in your earlier versions of MapleSim, and an updated .msim file, which can be used in MapleSim 6. If do not want to keep a copy of the .msim file for use in MapleSim 5 or earlier, click Continue Without Saving.
Note: In the updated .msim file, a log file called version_update is saved in the Attachments palette. This log file contains the list of updated components and parameters.
Note: If you save a model created in MapleSim 5 or earlier that contains multibody components using MapleSim 6, the saved model is not backwards compatible.
