Gear

Realistic model of a gearbox

Important: The Gear component has been deprecated. Instead, use the Gearbox component with its Use Support Flange parameter set to true.

Description This component models the essential effects of a gearbox, in particular, gear efficiency, gear elasticity, damping, and backlash. The inertia of the gear wheels is not modeled. If necessary, inertia must be taken into account by connecting an Inertia component to the left and/or the right flange.
