convert radians to degrees

 Calling Sequence convert(number, degrees)

Parameters

 number - expression in radians

Description

 • The convert/degrees function converts an expression from radians to degrees by multiplying it by 180/Pi.

Examples

The angle to be converted is assumed to be given in radians.

 > $\mathrm{convert}\left(\frac{\mathrm{π}}{2},\mathrm{degrees}\right)$
 ${90}{}{\mathrm{degrees}}$ (1)
 > $\mathrm{convert}\left(3\mathrm{π},\mathrm{degrees}\right)$
 ${540}{}{\mathrm{degrees}}$ (2)
 > $\mathrm{convert}\left(3,\mathrm{degrees}\right)$
 $\frac{{540}{}{\mathrm{degrees}}}{{\mathrm{π}}}$ (3)

To get an approximate angle, use evalf.

 > $\mathrm{evalf}\left(\mathrm{convert}\left(3,\mathrm{degrees}\right)\right)$
 ${171.8873385}{}{\mathrm{degrees}}$ (4)
