Student[VectorCalculus]

 SpaceCurve
 plot a space curve in R^2 or R^3

 Calling Sequence SpaceCurve(C, t=a..b, opts)

Parameters

 C - Vector; specify the components of the curve t - name; specify the parameter of the curve a, b - real constants; specify the range of the curve opts - equation(s) of the form option=value where option is one of caption or Student plot options;

Description

 • The SpaceCurve(C, t=a..b) calling sequence plots a space curve in R^2 or R^3. The plot is displayed in Cartesian coordinates.
 • The opts argument can contain any of the Student plot options or caption
 – caption = string A caption for the plot.  The default is Graph of the curve represented parametrically by the components of the given vector.  For more information about specifying a caption , see plot/typesetting.

Examples

 > $\mathrm{SpaceCurve}\left(⟨\mathrm{cos}\left(t\right),\mathrm{sin}\left(t\right),t⟩,t=1..5,\mathrm{axes}=\mathrm{framed}\right)$
 > $\mathrm{SpaceCurve}\left(⟨{ⅇ}^{-t}\mathrm{cos}\left(t\right),{ⅇ}^{-t}\mathrm{sin}\left(t\right)⟩,t=4..8\right)$
 > $\mathrm{SetCoordinates}\left({\mathrm{polar}}_{r,t}\right)$
 ${{\mathrm{polar}}}_{{r}{,}{t}}$ (1)
 > $\mathrm{SpaceCurve}\left(⟨1,t⟩,t=0..2\mathrm{π},\mathrm{scaling}=\mathrm{constrained}\right)$
