Please note that since Red Hat 9.0 was
released after Maple 7 and 8, it is not an officially tested
and supported platform. However, we do have some Red Hat
9.0 users who have reported that the following workaround
allowed them to successfully run Maple 7 and 8:
Before starting xmaple or maple, execute the following:
(in bash:) export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1
(in tcsh:) setenv LD_ASSUME_KERNEL 2.4.1
