Maplesoft Placement Test Suite

The high school prognostic tests provide projected placements in college mathematics courses long before students arrive on campus. By using these tests, colleges can ensure that more incoming students are prepared for college-level mathematics courses. Both colleges and students can then avoid the extra time and costs associated with remedial courses.

The high school prognostic tests cover elementary, intermediate, and advanced high school mathematics. Some of the tests are designed for use with calculators or graphing calculators. There are two or three parallel forms of each of the five different tests, resulting in a total of 13 distinct tests. Each test consists of 25 to 32 multiple choice questions that can be administered in 45 minutes or less. The tables below outline the topics covered in each test, along with the number of test questions in that particular topic. Note that some questions are counted more than once, so the total number of questions may be more than the number of questions on the test. The time limits are those recommended by the Mathematical Association of America
