Pricing and Licensing Options

Maplesoft offers a range of flexible pricing and licensing options to suit your budget, technology infrastructure, and the policies of your institution. Both Maple T.A. and the Maplesoft-MAA Placement Test Suite can be purchased in the following ways:

  • Maplesoft Hosted
    • You and your students access your classes from a Maplesoft server.
    • Maplesoft looks after the setup of the software and the maintenance of the server, including installing patches and major upgrades as they become available.
    • Access for you and your students is purchased for a specified time (for example, a school term or a year), and can be renewed.
    • Access is provided for up to a maximum number of users during that period. Additional licenses can be purchased as required.
    • Pricing is available for single classes, departments, and entire institutions.
  • Customer Hosted
    • You install the software on your own server.
    • You maintain the server, and install all patches and upgrades. If you subscribe to the Maplesoft Elite Maintenance Program, major upgrades will be sent to you automatically. Otherwise, these upgrades must be purchased separately.
    • The license to deploy content to students is maintained through the Maplesoft Elite Maintenance Program (EMP). A one-year subscription to the EMP is included with the initial purchase. Your EMP subscription must be renewed annually to maintain the deployment license.
    • For Maple T.A., the license to develop content for the system is perpetual. Content can be developed even during periods where an EMP subscription has been allowed to lapse, but the EMP subscription must be renewed or an upgrade purchased before that content is deployed to students.
    • The number of students who may use the system is determined by the license purchased. Additional licenses can be purchased as required.
    • Pricing is available for single classes, departments, and entire institutions.
  • Student Purchase Model
    • You and your students access your classes from a Maplesoft server.
    • Maplesoft looks after the setup of the software and the maintenance of the server, including installing patches and major upgrades as they become available.
    • The institution pays a small administration fee to set up each class, and then students purchase accounts on the server directly from the Maplesoft web store.
    • There are no limits to the number of courses or students that can use this service.
