Heating an Oil Stream Through Three Steam-Heated Tanks

Cold oil is being heated by steam through a series of three tanks connected in series. The transient change in temperature is modeled by three coupled ordinary differential equations.

This model consists of three instances of a tank heating oil, created as a custom component. The custom component is created in a Maple worksheet by simply typing in the governing differential equation (double-click on any of the components to see the worksheet). You can expand the model by adding more copies of the custom component. This model was based on the same application that was created in Maple (see related link below).
