Key Elements

Everything you need to move your STEM courses online

Moving courses online is challenging at the best of times, but is particularly difficult when it comes to math-based courses in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).  Maplesoft can help!

The Möbius Project is designed to help academic institutions move their STEM courses online.  Maplesoft has years of expertise in technical education, and has both the experience and technology to help you meet the particular challenges of math-based courses in an online environment. With Maplesoft’s help, you can provide an engaging, effective learning experience for your students that doesn’t just replicate, but actually enhances, the student experience.

The Möbius Project can help you provide an online course environment that includes:

Natural Math Notation

Math display and entry that matches what students and faculty are used to seeing in class and in textbooks

Interactive 2-D and 3-D plots, graphs, and animations that enhance engagement and comprehension

Technical questions, including open-ended, free-response questions that respect mathematical equivalence and can even have more than one correct answer

Dynamic, interactive applications for independent exploration, practice, and discovery

The University of Waterloo has formed a partnership with Maplesoft to support their growing online course offerings. Combining rich course materials developed by the University with Maple T.A. and Maplesoft technology for developing, managing, and displaying dynamic STEM content, the first result is the Secondary School Courseware project. This site is designed to support high school students and teachers in their precalculus and calculus courses.
