In this webinar, Orang Vahid, Senior Applications Engineer at Maplesoft, and Diego Minen of VI-Grade will demonstrate how the MapleSim Connector for VI-CarRealTime™ allows engineers to incorporate high-fidelity, multidomain models created in MapleSim into the real-time vehicle simulation environment of VI-CarRealTime.

VI-CarRealTime provides a fully validated real-time vehicle simulation environment that automotive engineers can use to optimize vehicle designs and control system performance. By using VI-CarRealTime, Vehicle Dynamics engineers can also perform large Design of Experiments (DOE) and multi-objective optimization studies quickly and easily. The combination of MapleSim, VI-CarRealTime and the Connector allows for the fast, accurate modeling of automotive subsystems, such as powertrains and drivelines. Automotive engineers can easily do innovative work, exploring their designs in new and deeper ways, detecting problems earlier in the design cycle, and developing high-quality, practical solutions to their design challenges.

Dr. Orang Vahid, Senior Modeling Engineer, Maplesoft:
Dr. Vahid holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo. He has over 10 years of experience in industry covering advanced dynamical systems, friction-induced vibration and control, automotive noise and vibration, and mechanical engineering design. He is a frequent invited speaker and has published numerous papers on various topics in engineering design.

Diego Minen, Technical Director, VI-grade:
Since 1985, Diego Minen is responsible for the development and implementation of simulation programs with particular reference to mechanical applications. First at Mechanical Dynamics, then at MSC Software and now at VI-grade, the main interest of Diego Minen and his group has been to develop simulation softwares and related systems that could improve the ability to predict the physical reality, digitalizing the equations of motion and the structural algorithms in the most efficient way. This led to his particular dedication to the development of engineering techniques leading to the accurate forecast of vehicle performance, as demonstrated by many applications for several clients around the world. His latest challenge came in 2008, when the development team led by Diego Minen has accomplished the design of software (including VI-CarRealTime) and hardware components for a next-generation driving simulator, currently installed in several parts of the world and heart of the VI-grade SimCenter.
