<itunes:summary>Maple T.A.

<title>Algebra, Trig, and Precalculus Math – All by Syntax-Free Maple</title>

<itunes:summary>Maple’s syntax-free Clickable Math will be used to explore topics from basic algebra, trigonometry, and “precalculus.” So, algebraic and trigonometric equations will be solved, graphs will be drawn, the binomial theorem explored, induction illustrated, etc., all without having to grapple with the syntax of a programming language, all with syntax-free Clickable Math.

Interwoven in the demonstrations is the pedagogical principle of “resequencing skills and concepts” whereby insights, understanding, and conceptual mastery receive first attention through the process of obtaining a Maple solution, exploring that solution, and then using Maple to implement the steps of the algorithm leading to that solution. This sets the “big picture” and shows where the details fit in, thereby motivating and enlightening students on the acquisition of the requisite manipulative skills.

Clickable Calculus™, the idea of powerful mathematics delivered using very visual, interactive point-and-click methods, responds to the most common complaint of faculty who integrate software into the classroom – time is spent teaching the tool, not the concepts. The ease-of-use features supporting Clickable Calculus flatten the learning curve so the emphasis is on the math, not on the tool.

      <link>http://www.maplesoft.com/company/webinars/view.aspx?SID=127738&amp;ref=Feed</link>

Nunca estivemos</itunes:summary>

Built with the involvement of several transmission manufacturers, this MapleSim add-on covers all stages in the powertrain, from the engine to the differential, wheels, and road loads, as well as vehicle dynamics. Additionally, this collection offers advanced features, such as more detailed engine models and the ability to include empirical loss data for all the components.

Dr. Vahid holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo. He has over 10 years of experience in industry covering advanced dynamical systems, friction-induced vibration and control, automotive noise and vibration, and mechanical engineering design. He is a frequent invited speaker and has published numerous papers on various topics in engineering design.

Dr. Wright received a Ph.D. degree in the collaborative electrical and biomedical engineering program at the University of Toronto, Canada. His research has focused on the physics of medical imaging, and he has also worked in the areas of robotics, control, analog and digital VLSI and board-level circuit design, and CCD cameras. <itunes:summary>Dr. Derek Wright, MapleSim Product Manager &amp; Dr. Orang Vahid, Senior Modeling Engineer
Maplesoft’s suite of tools for modeling and analyzing mechatronic systems relieves the burden that is typically associated with using traditional simulation tools to develop high-fidelity models. Maplesoft’s next-generation graphical tools for model development and analysis dramatically reduce the time and cost of up-front analysis, virtual prototyping, and parameter optimization of system designs. With an intuitive multi-domain modeling environment and powerful multibody modeling tools, MapleSim is uniquely suited to developing mechatronic systems, including such diverse applications as robotics, guidance systems, active stabilizers, vibration attenuators, and “X-by-wire” systems found in road vehicles and aircraft.

In this webinar, Dr. Orang Vahid, Senior Modeling Engineer, and Dr. Derek Wright, MapleSim Product Manager, will demonstrate how MapleSim is used for designing systems where open-loop, closed-loop, kinematic, and dynamic behaviors need to be considered. Tools for transferring work into an existing control development toolchain, and real-time simulation systems for hardware-in-the-loop testing will also be presented.</itunes:summary>
