Splinex Technology and Maplesoft Announce Strategic Alliance

Industry leading companies to offer Maple user community rapid modeling, visualization and simulation capabilities

Fort Lauderdale, FL & Waterloo, ON – June 3, 2005 – Splinex Technology Inc, a provider of visualization software and technology, and Maplesoft, a leading provider of high-performance software tools for engineering, science and mathematics, today announced a strategic sales and marketing alliance. Through Maplesoft’s third-party software program, MapleConnect Premier, over two million Maple software users will now have access to the visualization and simulation capabilities of nVizx for Maple. The agreement establishes Maplesoft as a non-exclusive reseller of nVizx for Maple which will be sold by Maplesoft through its web store sales, account teams and international reseller network as well as by Splinex.

Coinciding with this announcement is the release today, by Splinex, of the public beta version of nVizx v1.5 for Maple, the newest member in the Splinex family of dynamic visualization and simulation software products. The new Maple integrated version of nVizx has over 100 new features and feature enhancements with advanced capabilities for visual exploration, investigative analysis and improved communication of ideas and information. With nVizx for Maple, users such as scientists, researchers, engineers, students and educators can rapidly transform complex calculations and data into richly detailed images or sophisticated analytical models and control systems to provide improved comprehension and impact in publications and presentations.

Once published, all the math is live in the Web browser and as a result, colleagues around the world can work with, and benefit from, high-powered, live math without needing a copy of Maple 10 installed locally on their computer.

"We look forward to working with Maplesoft to provide the Maple user community with the advanced capabilities of nVizx for Maple," said Michael Stojda, President & CEO of Splinex Technology. "With this new version of nVizx, commercial users of Maple can better visualize and rapidly solve process and engineering problems, while educators and students who use Maple will appreciate the ability to visually research ideas and present advanced mathematics, science and engineering concepts with increased impact and clarity."

"Maplesoft has historically harnessed the power of mathematics for both commercial and academic users, helping them solve complex problems. We are very happy to be working with Splinex and adding nVizx for Maple to our growing MapleConnect Premier Series of products," said Jim Cooper, CEO of Maplesoft. "Our power Maple users have asked for advanced visualization and simulation capabilities for a range of applications including dynamic modeling, sensitivity analysis and engineering mathematics. nVizx for Maple delivers high-end scientific visualization features, benefits and performance to the typical Windows PC desktop at a very affordable price. The combination of Maple 10 and nVizx for Maple reinforces our efforts to reduce learning curves for student, academic, commercial and government customers and change math from a chore to an enabling competitive advantage."
