Maple Success
Story:
A Dynamic Learning
Experience with Maple
Students at the University of Perugia, Italy, gain real insight into
rational mechanics thanks to a new initiative.
Maple's Applications Marketing group were recently
taken by surprise when we started to receive a series of submissions
from students at the University of Perugia in Italy.
These excellent
examples of the use of Maple for modeling dynamic systems
were the result of a course project, showing the responses
of different configurations of compound second order
systems links, springs, dampers, rollers, pendulums etc.
The worksheets describe the problem
and use Maple's symbolic technology to develop the equations
of motion, from which the dynamic response can be analyzed.
Then, using a series of graphical primitives, created with
Maple's graphical language, the students generated animations
of the systems' responses.
