Job Description:
Maplesoft is looking for an exceptional individual with extensive computer programming experience and a sound understanding of the Maple symbolic computation system. The position is located onsite at a major Maplesoft customer in Pasadena, California. You will work closely with managers and engineers of this customer, analyzing project requirements and available data, formulating mathematical models and software designs and jointly implementing solutions using Maple, MapleSim and other Maplesoft products.
In addition to a strong technical background in engineering, physics or math (Bachelor’s degree required), excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities are also a must.
The successful candidate will first spend an extended training period at the Maplesoft headquarters in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, to enhance their knowledge of Maple and MapleSim and become familiar with Maplesoft's development processes and goals. You will also be expected to visit Waterloo regularly thereafter for training and in order to stay in touch with the latest developments at Maplesoft.
