Of all downhill sports and pseudo-sports, perhaps the most unique (and certainly one of the most dangerous) is cheese rolling.
Cheese rolling is an event that takes place annually on Cooper's Hill in Gloucestershire, England. A large disk of cheese is rolled down Cooper's hill, and the competitors (lined up at the top of the hill) chase after it, often injuring themselves and each other in the process. As the picture suggests, the risk derives from the steep slope of the hill.
What could be so important that people would risk life and limb chasing after a roll of cheese? Glory, of course, and the winner gets to keep the 7.5 pound cheese!
